Mike Berneburg Named New Golf Services Manager

Mike Berneburg

ARLINGTON, TX – Arlington Golf and the Arlington Parks and Recreation Department are pleased to announce the promotion of Mike Berneburg as the new Golf Services Manager. In this role, Berneburg will oversee golf operations across the City’s four municipal golf courses: Texas Rangers Golf Club, Tierra Verde Golf Club, Lake Arlington Golf Course, and Meadowbrook Park Golf Course.

Berneburg brings a wealth of experience and familiarity to the position, having served as Head Golf Professional at Lake Arlington Golf Course (2011-Present) and Meadowbrook Park Golf Course (2013-Present).

“I am incredibly honored to step into this role and continue enhancing the golf experience for residents and visitors alike," Berneburg said. “Following in the footsteps of Greg Durante, who dedicated over 30 years to Arlington Golf, is a privilege. Greg’s leadership set a strong foundation, and I’m excited to build on that."

Before joining the City of Arlington, Berneburg was an Assistant Golf Professional at Sherrill Park Golf Course in Richardson, TX from 2005 to 2011.

“This role generated a lot of interest both within the DFW golf community and nationally as well," said Ariel Briggs, assistant director of the Arlington Parks and Recreation Department. "In the end, Mike’s passion for Arlington Golf and vision for the future of the golf division made him the perfect fit."

Berneburg is a graduate of UT Dallas with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and was elected to PGA Membership in 2012.
