Meadowbrook Park is Home to New Arlington FootGolf Course
Arlington Golf has “kicked off” a new program at the oldest golf course in Arlington, with Meadowbrook Park Golf Course becoming the home of the City’s first FootGolf course.
FootGolf is a combination of the popular sports of soccer and golf. Instead of golf clubs and golf balls, the game is played with a soccer ball and a 21-inch diameter cup. The rules mostly correlate with the rules of golf. While FootGolf is played throughout the world, it is estimated there are only 180 courses across the United States. The Meadowbrook Park course is the second course to open in DFW.
The FootGolf layout utilizes the same routing as the golf course, with the FootGolf cups positioned in close proximity to the existing golf greens. FootGolf and traditional golf tee times will be offered simultaneously, with the customer notifying the Pro Shop which sport they wish to play at check-in. Both options will be available seven days a week. Due to the Arlington Senior Men's Golf League, FootGolf tee times won't be accepted until after 12:00 PM on Tuesdays.
Golf Course Superintendent Brick Scott heard about the idea this spring and introduced it to park officials earlier this summer. “We always want to find new ways to encourage people to get outside and recreate,” said Scott. This is a great way to introduce people to golf and a new activity that the whole family can enjoy.”
The course has submitted paperwork to be certified by the Federation for International FootGolf (FIFG) and the American FootGolf League (AFGL). As a certified course, Meadowbrook Park could host local AFGL leagues, as well as state, regional and national tournaments.
While most FootGolf venues are strictly par-3 courses, Meadowbrook Park has a par of 70, with a mix of shorter and longer holes.

Hours of Operation
Play begins at Meadowbrook Park Golf Course thirty minutes before daylight and ends thirty minutes before dark every day except Christmas Day. Call for Thanksgiving Day hours. Weekday tee times are accepted up to a week in advance by phone or in person. Call 817-275-0221 for further information.
